Switchingto Factory Karts?

Raced Tony Kart, Kosmic or another OTK chassis for years? Here’s what drivers notice when they switch to Factory Karts — and how to try one before you decide.

01 — What drivers notice

The difference, from the seat.

Drivers who’ve raced OTK and other brands on what stands out in a Factory Karts chassis.

I drove OTKs for years, but what really stands out with Factory Karts is the performance under braking and the amount of lateral grip I can generate through the corners.

Is Factory Karts a good alternative to OTK?

Drivers who have raced both point to outright speed, braking performance, lateral grip and the balance of the kart. The best way to judge is from the seat — book a test day and drive one.

Do OTK parts fit a Factory Karts chassis?

No. Factory Karts chassis use their own parts, so plan for Factory Karts spares when you switch. Spares are stocked in the UK, and the UK team is trackside at every race weekend on our calendar.

Which classes can I race with Factory Karts?

Junior and Senior direct-drive (Rotax and IAME) with the SS 2.0, KZ and KZ2 with the FZ/KZ, Rotax DD2 and DD2 Masters with the DD2, and four-stroke with the 4C. A Cadet - Mini chassis is coming soon.

Where are Factory Karts made?

Every Factory Karts chassis is designed and built in the USA. In the UK they are sold, supported and raced by Factory Karts UK.

How much does it cost, and how long does it take?

The Junior/Senior SS 2.0 rolling chassis starts from £3,890 exc. VAT; ask the team for other classes. Lead time is typically 2–4 weeks.

Can I try one before I switch?

Yes. Book a test day: we fit the seat, set the kart up for the driver and you get back-to-back laps with honest feedback from the UK team.
